Hair transplants aim to restore hair growth on the scalp and it is an effective treatment for many types of hair loss. It is a technique that removes hair follicles from one part of the body, called the ‘donor site’, to a bald or balding part of the body called the ‘recipient site’.

Types of Hair transplant

There are two types of hair transplants:

  1. Follicular unit strip surgery (FUSS). The surgeon will remove a small part of the skin from the donor area and close the incision with stitches. They will then use the separated donor skin into tiny follicular units that contain one or several hair follicles and insert these units into the desired area.
  2. Follicular unit extraction (FUE). The surgeon will remove follicles from the area of the donor area. Although this procedure will lead to some scarring, may be less noticeable, and the person will not usually require stitches.

Both techniques are effective and the doctor will according to the baldness overhead.

Procedure

Before: The surgeon will select an area that will serve as a donor site or area with healthy hair.

Step 2: Now this graft is placed in the area where there is less hair growth

Step 3: After placing the graft it is sutured.
