Understanding Hair Transplants: Types, Procedure, and Benefits

Hair transplants aim to restore hair growth on the scalp and it is an effective treatment for many types of hair loss. It is a technique that removes hair follicles from one part of the body, called the ‘donor site’, to a bald or balding part of the body called the ‘recipient site’.

There are two types of hair transplants:

  1. Follicular unit strip surgery (FUSS). The surgeon will remove a small part of the skin from the donor area and close the incision with stitches.
